mit Rüstung Schwert und Beil
und bieten Ihre Dienste,
dem Meistbietenden feil.
Der Sold der wird versoffen,
die Beute wird verspielt,
am Ende bleibt nichts übrig,
von dem was man erzielt.

Sie rauben und sie plündern,
kein Leben wird verschont,
mit Feuer und mit Schwertern,
raubt man sich was sich lohnt.
Die Erde wird verwüstet,
es bleibt nur Staub und Rauch,
der Krieg ist eine Hure,
so ist es eben Brauch.

Man kennt nicht ihre Namen,
man kennt nicht ihre Stadt,
so schnell sind sie vergessen,
wie ein verdorrtes Blatt.
Sie werden nur geboren,
für edler Herren Zweck,
zum Sterben auf dem Schlachtfeld,
